Associative hatches are applied to an object as a fill from the Attributes palette or Resource Browser. Since the hatch pattern start point cannot be specified, this type of hatch is best for large objects where the hatch start point is not important. If the size of the object changes, the hatch fills the new object dimensions. Associative hatches can be specified as a default class attribute (see Setting Class Properties).
